My biscuits are burning.

I saw this on Lou Dobbs while watching the news this morning.

The UN wants to criminalize negative speech about religion.

Of course, you know what religion they mean. Too many foxes are in the hen house at the UN.

I’m going to test this bill to its limits if its passed. Really. I’m going to make a movie.

America must stand where others won’t

Nelwly deployed soldiers conduct patrol near Kabul

Newly deployed US soldiers conduct patrol near Kabul

A new surge is beginning in Afghanistan. America must stand where the rest of the world will not. We must decide once and for all what we expect from our troops.  Many people in our country vented their hostility to the Iraq invasion by stating: “Afghanistan was right–but Iraq is wrong.” Then when things got rough in Afghanistan, they wanted to quit and became critical of Bush’s policy there.

We cannot have this type of “thought oscillation.” Make up our minds, already. Do we acknowledge that terrorists, driven by an unquenchable and barely conceivable zeal for Paradise have decided that life here on Earth is of little value? And in that decision-making process, have they not targeted America and all of Western civilization with violence? Have they not told us, over and over again, and proved many times, that they are willing to go to virtually any extant to bring about the events outlines in bin Laden’s Fatwa?

And is it not obvious, that by the bravery and solemn actions taken by our men and women in our armed forces, that the power of Al-Qaeda has been significantly reduced?

We know that Americans desire peace, and no nation ever, has shed more of its own blood for the rights of others, then this nation. No nation has given more of its treasure to help the poor and suffering around the world, to maintain peace-keeping missions, and to develop societies everywhere so that they can stand on their own without leaning on the comforting lies of tyrants.

Even those who would deny this know it’s true.

This administration must set achievable strategic parameters and give our troops every available means of meeting the expectations.

There is no substitute for victory.

There is a better way for the Middle East, but Islam fears the path

Islam fears womens liberty

Islam fears women's liberty

Yesterday, while reading through Oliver North’s excellent book, Heroes, I suddenly felt a greatsorrow for the people of the Middle east, in particular, the women. The book has many high quality pictures, and several of them showed women smiling as they displayed purple voting fingers. Their faces, were finally able to be touched by sun light, without fear of a Taliban commissar whipping their ankles for breaching Sharia.

In so many parts of the world, Islam targets women and children, denying them education and basic freedoms. But the cat has clawed its way out of the bag. Freedom, education, and a life without crushing guilt have smashed Sharia’s bulwark.

The media got it wrong. The world is a better, if still unstable place. I don’t think Iraq will ever go back to the way it was under Saddam. They’d never take back the past in exchange for America’s absence. Liberals, either well-meaning or merely hateful, would have left the women of that sandy part of the world to a certain doom.

Islam fears children. It fears women. Mostly because the men of Islam in many cases, fear themselves, their own impulses frighten them and they grant blame to the fairer sex the way they do the the West.

Brad Thor’s New Book: Interview with Glenn Beck

Here’s a link to the transcript of an interview conducted by Glenn Beck, with author, Brad Thor. His new book, The First Commandment, will create quite a stir; it’s premise: That Mohammed was assassinated because he had received one, final revelation, and his cohorts did not wish the rest of Islam to partake of this knowledge. http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/6889/

Thor’s taking his life into his own hands by writing this, a’la Salman Rushdie. Thor makes a great comment on how we’re “experiencing Sharia inch-by-inch by cowering….”. Exactly, just like the Harvard Gym story.

Update III Marine/ Puppy Video…

Why is no one talking about the Islamic flag that was flying in the video that I saw? What about the reference to the “Christian Soldier”? or the jade-colored crown in the top left corner? I’m assuming these were in the original video, since they have been in almost all still-shots of the video, that are posted on various websites.

Anyone have any answers as to why all of these things are there?

The Barbary Pirates

One of my enduring ambitions–aside from getting America to love itself again–it to give people a historical context for today’s current events. So many times, mostly because of 24 hr. news, we are led to believe that the events of the day have no precedent.

Today we’ll see that the ongoing war on terror is in fact an old war and that our enemies believe they have the right to kill us and take anything of value because we are infidels. It is true. Do not believe that all people around the world think as we do, and that violence and the importance of individuals lives receives the supreme value it does in America.

In 1784, just one year after America had finished its war of independence with Britain, Barbary Pirates, (water-borne thieves operating from the coasts of North Africa under the flag of Islam), seized an American ship. Negotiations ensued and America paid the pirates $60,000 in cash and a treaty was signed with Morocco. Then, again in 1784, Barbary Pirates from Algeria captured two American ships, sold them, and forced the crews into slavery.

In 1786, Thomas Jefferson was America’s ambassador to France; John Adams to Britain. Both of them met with the Muslim ambassador from Tripoli to Britain. The ambassador was asked why American ships had been attacked even though there had been no provocation and no past hostilities. Jefferson writes what the ambassador told him:

That it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman [Muslim] who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise

Such a response echoes today even; its din resonates in virtually every major country the world over–but people can’t hear it even though it’s repeated with startling regularity.

Have no doubt, it is commanded by Mohammed to kill or enslave the unbeliever. That is Islam’s root. Not all Muslims follow Islam’s commands to the letter, just as not all Christians are pious, but the commands are written that Al-Qaeda should do what it is doing–slaying infidels.

By 1793, twelve American ships had been captured; all of their crews lived as slaves for eleven years. War was never officially declared on the pirates, but military force was authorized by Congress. A point to remember, is that these pirates were terrorists of a sort. And they did not get trials nor were they held at Gitmo for CNN to film. They were killed by military engagement–that’s what happened to pirates then and that’s what should happen to terrorists now. They are engaging in a multi-national WAR. This is not a crime-spree; it is battle.

America learned from its dealings with the Barbary Pirates that Islam grants itself the right to do whatever it wants to unbelievers. In the late 1700s, America paid $990,000 in ransom’s and bribes to Algeria alone; the national revenue was merely $7 million.

The first Barbary War was conducted between 1801 and 1804 and then another commenced in 1815. The United States Marine Corp. saw extensive action in the fighting, gaining the moniker: Leathernecks.

In ending, consider the words of US consul William Eaton in 1799 as he wrote to the Secretary of State: “Too many concessions have been made to Algiers. There is but one language which can be held to these people, and this is terror.”
